Dr. Murray Watson
Theology and education
Murray Watson, PhD is a Catholic Christian theologian and interfaith educator committed to building a world of inclusion, respectful relationships, and justice.
His graduate studies took him to Rome, Jerusalem, and Dublin, where he received his PhD in biblical studies from Trinity College in 2010. He has taught widely across Canada and overseas on theological and interreligious topics, and he continues to research, write, and present on life-giving ways to approach sacred texts and on dialogue across boundaries of difference.
Based in Barrie, Ontario, Murray serves as Adult Faith Formation Animator for the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board and as Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Theology at Huron University College in London. He revels in a line from the Canadian spiritual artist David Hayward: "My home is in Christianity, but I have cottages everywhere."
